Press Ahead Publishing is an attempt to make a buck or two publishing stuff that interests us, starting off with some queer novels.

We're not soliciting manuscripts, only readers.

Brandon and Wilson at the Catch

Wilson feels best when he has a plan. His makeover scheme – to steal less, be more honest, and participate more in life – is intended to make him worthy of a decent boyfriend. He assumes it’ll take years. But then the new group home resident he’s crushing on volunteers to be his roommate when no one else will and then can’t seem to keep his shirt on around him or stop talking about girls.

Brandon feels best when his sheets are clean and his hair looks good. He thinks the group home might be the place he can finally meet girls without having to explain about his dead mother and his father in prison, but the one person who keeps drawing him in is his gay roommate with penetrative eyes who can’t stop talking about racial injustice.

But mostly the times when Wilson and Brandon feel the best are when they’re together.

Is Brandon worth Wilson changing his timeline for love? Is Wilson worth reconsidering who Brandon finds attractive? And will the chaos of group home life pull them apart before they have their chance at love?

If you are or were recently a queer kid looking for something sweet and slightly spicy about and for queer kids, welcome!

If you are a gay/queer man of a certain age, this is the kind of novel you wished was available when you were 15. You’ll love both Brandon and Wilson. Welcome!

Market research says that the bulk of coming of age novels about boys falling for boys are bought by . . . wait for it . . . straight women! Welcome Heated Rivalry fan-girls!

If you are an uptight Christian fascist looking for something to complain about in your local library, this is exactly the kind of book you’ll want to keep out of the hands of your badly home-schooled child. Spread the word!

Could there be more Brandon and Wilson on the way?
